Conditions we treat
Lumbar spinal stenosis narrows the space around the spinal nerves, commonly causing leg pain or numbness that worsens with walking. Lumbar disc herniation occurs when the cushioning disc between vertebrae bulges and presses on a nerve, often causing pain radiating down the leg. Osteoporotic vertebral fracture, more common in older patients with reduced bone density, can cause back pain and, in some cases, a change in posture.
Our approach
Treatment generally begins with medication, injection, and rehabilitation, with surgery considered when these do not sufficiently relieve symptoms or when neurological symptoms are progressing. Where surgery is appropriate, we aim for an approach suited to each patient's condition, age, and daily activity level, followed by a structured rehabilitation programme aimed at restoring function.
