Some patterns from recent years
Obstetric patients make up a large share of discharges, with a notable proportion of births to mothers in their thirties and forties; the hospital delivers roughly 1,600 babies a year, drawing patients from beyond the immediate area. Patients in their sixties and older are admitted mainly under Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, and Surgery. Kidney and urinary tract infections and bile-duct conditions have trended upward in recent years under Internal Medicine. Under Surgery, gallbladder inflammation, inguinal hernia, and breast malignancy admissions have also trended upward. Gestational diabetes admissions under Obstetrics have increased, alongside more admissions associated with older maternal age.
