Pediatrics

Specialists across a range of childhood conditions, from allergy to bedwetting, support your child's growth and development.

We provide comprehensive care from newborns through junior high school age. Specialists across several fields of pediatrics are on staff, so beyond general pediatric care, we treat allergy, kidney conditions and bedwetting, short stature, cardiology, and a range of other concerns.

If a symptom is not improving with usual treatment, or is following an unusual course, please feel free to talk to us. In cases we judge to be beyond what we can manage here, we refer to a more specialised institution.

Our pediatric emergency clinic runs weekdays 13:00-22:30, and 9:00-16:30 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (occasionally closed on public holidays). Please call ahead if you would like to be seen at the emergency clinic.

What we treat

Whole-family support

Beyond illness itself, we aim to support parents through the wider work of raising a child, including parenting consultations addressing a range of everyday concerns.

Coordinated care

The outpatient building and the main hospital work closely together, so a patient seen at the outpatient building who needs to be admitted can be transferred smoothly.

Specialist conditions

We treat a range of specialist pediatric conditions, including allergy, atopic dermatitis, kidney conditions and bedwetting, short stature, Kawasaki disease, and developmental concerns.

Vaccination

We provide both routine and optional vaccinations.

Inpatient care

We admit patients for infections such as pneumonia, and for conditions including asthma and Kawasaki disease. Where a case is beyond what we can manage, or needs advanced specialist treatment, we may transfer the patient to a university hospital or similar institution.

Newborn nursery

We examine and treat healthy newborns delivered here, along with premature infants born at 35 weeks or later and weighing at least 2,000g. Where a case is beyond what we can manage or needs advanced treatment, transfer to a neonatal intensive care unit at a university hospital or similar institution may be necessary.
