Tokyo Adventist Hospital was founded on May 1, 1929, by an American physician, as part of the medical mission work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Starting with a staff of twelve and just twenty beds, the hospital grew gradually through successive expansions into a core institution serving this community. Obstetrics and gynecology have been part of the hospital since its earliest days, and its palliative care ward, the first of its kind among Tokyo's twenty-three special wards, remains a defining feature today, alongside a continued investment in preventive medicine through health checkups and health education. Guided by our philosophy, to make man whole through Christ's love, serving each person, we aim to remain a hospital this community can call its own, providing sincere and high-quality medical and nursing care.
