Cervical and breast cancer are not conditions that happen only to other people. We recommend regular screening for early detection. A woman's body changes not only with age but in response to her broader circumstances, and regular gynecological checkups can also help detect benign conditions early, supporting timely treatment. We offer test combinations suited to different ages; we recommend an annual gynecological checkup even without symptoms.

About each test
- Breast ultrasound
- Checks the condition of breast tissue and ducts; well suited to finding a lump. Recommended for women with denser breast tissue, at any age.
- Mammography
- An X-ray suited to capturing the overall picture of the breast, including lumps or calcification. Generally recommended from around age 40.
- Cervical cytology
- Checks for cervical cancer.
- Transvaginal ultrasound
- Well suited to detecting uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, or a thickened endometrium.
- Endometrial cytology (optional)
- Checks for cancer of the uterine lining; sometimes carried out following discussion with your physician. 7,700 yen (tax included).
- Bone density (optional)
- Measures bone mass to assess osteoporosis risk. Generally recommended from around age 40. 2,200 yen (tax included).
For anyone finding it hard to make time
Balancing work, childcare, or caregiving can make it hard to find a weekday appointment. Japan Mammography Sunday, held on the third Sunday of October each year, is a nationwide effort to make mammography accessible on a Sunday. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Japan; with early detection, outcomes are generally more favourable. If further testing or treatment is needed, our neighbouring outpatient building provides a coordinated path forward, so please feel comfortable coming in for screening.
