A wide range of medical equipment supports diagnosis and treatment here every day. Our Medical Equipment Management department cares for this equipment with knowledge, technical skill, and genuine attentiveness, so that the clinical expertise and care of every department can be delivered safely to each patient. We hope our work here contributes, in its own way, to the wellbeing of everyone who relies on this equipment, from patients through to the physicians and nurses who use it.

An “S” (Outstanding) rating from Japan's hospital accreditation body

This hospital received an “S” (outstanding) rating in its Japan Council for Quality Health Care assessment, reflecting both a high level of achievement against standard criteria and distinctive practices of our own (2017 assessment).

Equipment supporting delivery

Our obstetrics department has provided epidural pain relief since 1972, alongside advanced, emotionally attentive perinatal care. Our delivery rooms use pulse oximeters and a foetal monitor designed to be comfortable during blood pressure measurement. Data streams in real time to a central monitor at the nurses' station, so a nurse is always watching.

Lower-dose imaging equipment

This hospital is part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist medical network, which includes 230 hospitals and 1,600 clinics. Affiliated hospitals in the United States have raised awareness of radiation exposure risk for close to 120 years, and in that same tradition, we use CT and X-ray equipment designed to produce high-quality images at a lower radiation dose.

Dental equipment and hygiene

Adventist Dental Clinic, independent from the main hospital building since 2020, maintains infection-control practice aligned with US CDC guidance, comparable to hospital-level standards, and provides oral care ahead of surgery or chemotherapy alongside general dental treatment. A pass-through system keeps clean and used equipment areas fully separate, alongside washing and sterilisation equipment we've invested in specifically for thorough hygiene.

Equipment supporting our youngest patients

Our paediatrics department combines high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy with external negative-pressure ventilation support for children with severe respiratory distress. Where this treatment helps a child who has been struggling to breathe finally sleep peacefully through the night, it also brings relief to parents who have been losing sleep alongside them.

Equipment supporting surgical safety

Our operating rooms use current vital-sign monitors, tracking ECG, heart rate, temperature, and blood pressure and alerting staff to anything abnormal. Monitoring data collected during surgery can be transferred to a portable receiver carried to the ward, so monitoring can continue seamlessly as a patient is moved.

Our Health Checkup Centre likewise relies on well-maintained imaging and diagnostic equipment to support early detection across the range of checkups we offer.
