Hospital Quality Indicators

Under Japan's regulations on medical advertising, hospitals are required to publish a defined set of clinical quality indicators. This page presents that disclosure for Tokyo Adventist Hospital.

What is published

Some patterns from recent years

Obstetric patients make up a large share of discharges, with a notable proportion of births to mothers in their thirties and forties; the hospital delivers roughly 1,600 babies a year, drawing patients from beyond the immediate area. Patients in their sixties and older are admitted mainly under Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, and Surgery. Kidney and urinary tract infections and bile-duct conditions have trended upward in recent years under Internal Medicine. Under Surgery, gallbladder inflammation, inguinal hernia, and breast malignancy admissions have also trended upward. Gestational diabetes admissions under Obstetrics have increased, alongside more admissions associated with older maternal age.

This page summarises the disclosure. The full statistical tables, broken down by individual DPC diagnosis code with average length of stay, national comparison figures, transfer rates, and patient age, are published in their original format on the Japanese page, along with a link to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's guidance on medical advertising regulation.
