Sleep Apnoea Syndrome

Our respiratory medicine service manages sleep apnoea syndrome from initial assessment through treatment and follow-up, including inpatient testing where needed.

What it is

Sleep apnoea syndrome involves repeated pauses or shallow breathing during sleep, often linked to loud snoring, disrupted sleep, and daytime sleepiness. Left untreated over time, it is associated with a higher risk of conditions including hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

Diagnosis and treatment

We assess suspected cases with sleep testing, which can be arranged as an inpatient stay, and offer treatment options including CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) therapy, with ongoing follow-up to monitor its effect.

Please talk to us if you or your family have noticed loud snoring, pauses in breathing during sleep, or persistent daytime sleepiness.

To book a visit, please use the form or call us. You can give up to three preferred dates, and choose from multiple time slots for each.
