Hospitalization

What to bring

• Patient card, health insurance card, and medication notebook (or a list of your current medications)
• Toiletries, indoor slippers with a back strap, a gown, underwear, and personal items
• Obstetric patients: please bring your Maternal and Child Health Handbook
• Nightwear or pyjamas (a front-opening style is convenient)
• Towels (a hospital gown and towel rental set is available)

Supplements cannot be used during your stay.

During your stay

Meals

We serve a plant-based diet built around grains, vegetables, fruit, soy, and other plant proteins.

Going out or staying overnight elsewhere

As a rule, any outing or overnight absence requires a physician's permission; please speak with your nurse first. Patients in the palliative care ward may go out or stay elsewhere freely if they wish, subject to a limit on the number of nights away.

Having someone stay with you

As a rule, we do not allow a companion to stay overnight. In the palliative care ward, a family member may stay without restriction if the patient and family wish.

Television and refrigerator

A television and refrigerator can be rented for 550 yen per day (tax included). Please use headphones out of consideration for other patients.

Valuables

Please do not bring valuables such as jewellery, precious metals, or cash. The hospital cannot take responsibility for loss, theft, or other incidents involving personal belongings.

Gift shop

Our in-hospital gift shop stocks items useful during a stay.

Chaplain's office

This hospital was founded to provide whole-person healing, attending to the spirit and mind as well as the body. Our chaplain is available to support patients facing the burden of illness alongside anxiety or fear, through Bible hour, counselling, and bedside visits. Anyone wishing to talk privately is welcome; please visit the chaplain's office at any time. Bible hour and Sabbath worship, including music, can also be viewed on the in-room television.

Home-help assistance

Inpatients who need a helper can be assisted by care staff from our home-visit care station, for tasks such as laundry, errands, wheelchair assistance, accompaniment outside the hospital, or help with admission and discharge, at 2,300 yen per hour (tax included), billed in one-hour units.

Discharge

Please pay your hospitalization costs at the first-floor reception desk at the time of discharge. After payment, you will be given a discharge notice slip to hand to the ward nurse.

Accounting is not handled on Saturdays, so we ask that discharge be avoided on Saturdays where possible.

Regional Liaison & Medical Consultation Office

Our medical social workers are available to support patients and families with matters such as understanding how treatment and costs work here, everyday and financial concerns, planning home care after discharge, using a nursing home or care facility, public medical welfare programmes, and other psychological or practical concerns that can arise during treatment.
